Rune Abyss

Dear Players,

Rune Abyss is a party raid that ends in a battle against Thanatos. To enter, you must first solve Odin’s Rune Ritual and obtain a Runic Relic.

The Challenge

Once your party enters Rune Abyss, you have one hour to:

1. Defeat 300 Mortis.
2. Defeat 7 Noxx to summon Thanatos.
3. Defeat Thanatos to complete the raid.

Only one party can enter at a time. Enemies spawn once and do not respawn. If your party is defeated or runs out of time, the raid fails.

Complete the quest to claim exclusive rewards! Upon defeat, Thanatos drops the following on the ground for your party to collect:

How to Obtain a Runic Relic

Speak to Alchemist Odin in Unknown Continent — Kephra (X: 3237, Y: 1691). Open his composition window and select Rune Ritual.

Odin has a secret sequence of seven different runes. Place seven runes in the order you believe is correct and confirm your attempt. Every accepted attempt consumes the seven runes, whether it succeeds or fails.

If you fail, Odin gives you two clues: how many runes are in the correct position, and how many belong to the sequence but are in the wrong position. He will not reveal which runes they are.

Solve the sequence to receive a Runic Relic. Your name will be announced across the server, and a new sequence will immediately become active. Clues from the previous sequence will no longer apply.

Using the Relic

Use the Runic Relic to transport your party into Rune Abyss. The relic expires seven days after it is created, so gather your party before time runs out.

Allowed Runes

Ansuz, Uraz, Thurisaz, Fehu, Raidho, Kenaz, Naudhiz, Gebo, Wunjo, Hagalaz, Isa, Jara, Elhwaz, Perthro, Elhaz, Sowilo, Berkano, Ehwaz, Tiwaz, Mannaz, Laguz, Dagaz, Ing and Othel.

Ritual Rules

• Each attempt requires exactly seven different runes from the allowed list.
• Invalid attempts are rejected without consuming runes or providing clues.
• There is one active sequence for the entire server. It changes only when a player solves it, including across restarts and maintenance.
• There is no waiting period between attempts.
