New Familiars: Smaug Inferno and Smaug Iceborn

Warriors, new familiars are coming to Dynasty of Loki.
Smaug will be a special familiar, initially available in two variations:

 

Smaug Inferno 

Smaug Iceborn

Each version will be created from a specific base familiar and will be suited for a different character playstyle.

 

Smaug Inferno

Smaug Inferno will be the version recommended for Damage characters.
Damage classes are mainly focused on basic attacks, while also using some skills as part of their combat rotation.
This version of Smaug will have its attack style inspired by the Imp, making it a strong option for players looking for constant damage, aggression, and pressure during combat.
Main information:
– Base familiar: Imp
– Recommended for: Damage
– Combat style: basic attacks and some skills
– Attack inspired by: Imp

 

Smaug Iceborn

Smaug Iceborn will be the version recommended for Mages.
Mages are mainly focused on the use of skills, relying more on abilities than basic attacks.
This version of Smaug will have its attack style inspired by the Grewpain, making it a suitable option for players who use magic and skills as their main source of damage.
Main information:
– Base familiar: Grewpain
– Recommended for: Mages
– Combat style: skill usage
– Attack inspired by: Grewpain

 

Smaug Visual Concept

Smaug will be a unique creature within Dynasty of Loki.

It will be a dragon created from the fusion of draconic essence, ancient energy, and the power of the familiars used in its creation. A creature born from opposing forces, carrying traces of fire, ice, and ancient magic.
Even though both versions share the same origin, each one will have its own identity based on the familiar used as its base:

  • Smaug Inferno — created from the Imp
  • Smaug Iceborn — created from the Grewpain

Important: Familiar Additional Bonuses
When transforming an Imp or Grewpain into Smaug, any additional bonuses on the base familiar will be removed.
This means that extra bonuses, additional attributes, or special stats from the Imp or Grewpain will not be transferred to Smaug.
Choose carefully which familiar will be used for the transformation.

How to Create a Smaug
To create a Smaug, the base familiar must be equipped on the character.
After that, the player must drag 100x Draconic Sigil onto the equipped familiar.

 

Creating Smaug Inferno

To create Smaug Inferno, the player will need:
1x Imp equipped on the character

100x Draconic Sigil

With the Imp equipped, drag the 100x Draconic Sigil onto the familiar.
After the process, the Imp will be transformed into:
Smaug Inferno
Any additional bonuses on the Imp will be removed during the transformation.

 

Creating Smaug Iceborn

To create Smaug Iceborn, the player will need:
1x Grewpain equipped on the character

100x Draconic Sigil
With the Grewpain equipped, drag the 100x Draconic Sigil onto the familiar.
After the process, the Grewpain will be transformed into:
Smaug Iceborn
Any additional bonuses on the Grewpain will be removed during the transformation.

How to Obtain Draconic Sigil
The Draconic Sigil can be crafted through the NPC Ehre, located in Erion.

 

To attempt to craft 1x Draconic Sigil

 

the player will need the following materials:

1x Grewpain

1x Imp

10x Glit Stone

20kk Gold
The crafting process has a 25% success chance.

Crafting Result

If the crafting attempt is successful, the player will receive:
1x Draconic Sigil
If the crafting attempt fails, all materials used in the attempt will be lost:
1x Grewpain

1x Imp

10x Glit Stone

20kk Gold

 

Smaug Death and Resurrection
When Smaug dies, it will not disappear.
To resurrect the familiar, the player will need:
10x Draconic Sigil
With the familiar dead, drag the 10x Draconic Sigil onto it to resurrect it.

 

Summary
Equipped Imp + 100x Draconic Sigil = Smaug Inferno
Equipped Grewpain + 100x Draconic Sigil = Smaug Iceborn
The Draconic Sigil is required to create and resurrect Smaug.
The NPC Ehre, responsible for the crafting process, is located in Erion.
Crafting a Draconic Sigil has a 25% success chance.
If the crafting attempt fails, the materials are lost.
Additional bonuses from the Imp or Grewpain will not be transferred to Smaug.
When Smaug dies, it does not disappear.
Resurrection is done by dragging 10x Draconic Sigil onto the dead familiar.
Prepare your familiars, gather your materials, and choose the version that best fits your character.
Smaug is coming to Dynasty of Loki.
